My story

On Monday 30th June 2025 Joseph will be taking part in this year’s Splashathon challenge during his usual Water Babies lesson.

Last year he completed the challenge in a Spider-Man onesie as the theme was superheroes. This year my little superhero will be completing his swimming challenges dressed up as either a pirate or a sea creature (it depends how mummy feels when she sits down to make a costume)!

He will complete a set of very tricky swimming challenges on a quest to find pieces of eight, parrots and buried treasure!

All donations raised through Splashathon support Tommy’s, a charity which researches miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth in a mission to make pregnancy and birth safe for everyone. Joseph was born 6 weeks premature so this is a cause close to our hearts. The fundraising also supports The Children’s Alliance, a charity which conducts outreach work to give safe access to water for underprivileged children. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to afford for Joseph to go to swimming lessons since he was very, very small and it’s been a highlight of our weeks throughout his life so far. It would be wonderful to be able to sponsor similar opportunities for others less fortunate.

For raising at least £1, Joseph will be entered into a prize draw to win a whole year of swimming lessons, which would be amazing. Last year he managed to be the second highest fundraiser in his region and won some lovely swimwear.
