My story

My name is Safiyah and I am a water babie I love my Sunday swimming with my daddy and feel honoured that I can help Tommys charity.

I have an older sister who sadly passed away 2 days old 6/12/22 and I am a rainbow baby.

It’s thanks to Tommys Manchester I am here today. They helped look after my mummy whilst I was in her tummy and would give her regular scans to check that I was growing as I should have been.

At 35weeks and 6 days Tommys detected that part of my placenta had stopped working and needed to enter the world a little earlier than expected.

If it wasn’t for them scanning my mummy and noticing this I might not be here today so for that we all are so grateful for them and all they do.

So this is my way of giving back to them to help the next rainbow baby get here safe and sound.

I’m going to complete a set of very tricky swimming challenges on a quest to find pieces of eight, parrots and buried treasure in my Water Babies class. I’ll take on the challenge dressed in my favourite sea creature, mermaid or pirate costume so it’s an extra difficult swim.
