This March, Water Babies across the UK will be sponsored to complete a swimming challenge, in their favourite fancy dress to help ensure a better, brighter future for all children.

Together, we want to raise £1 million for Tommy's and the Children's Alliance. This could fund the UK’s first Tommy’s National Centre for Preterm Birth Research for a year, working to reduce the numbers of babies born too early.

This could also fund key projects which give children access to water through Children Alliance, from specialist swimming lessons for SEN children, making swimming an inclusive sport through the provision of swimwear, to providing access to specific water sports which can help children with mental health issues.

About Tommy's

Tommy’s is the leading pregnancy charity that exists to stop the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss and make pregnancy and birth safe – for everyone.

We work across the whole pregnancy journey – translating our research breakthroughs into new tests and treatments in clinical care, changing national maternity policy and providing expert information and support.

1 in 13 babies born in the UK are premature – that’s 6 babies every hour. But there’s so much we can do to prevent it.

That's why we’re opening the first ever Tommy's National Centre for Preterm Birth Research dedicated to finding the causes and treatments which save babies’ lives.

About The Children's Alliance

Children's Alliance is The Water Babies charitable foundation, aiming to give children the best start in life. Making a difference in the first five years of children's lives is vital. Its work aims to champion the importance of our children and inspire the potential of the next generation, through policy campaigning and community initiatives. By working with like-minded organisations and actively fundraising to support key projects, Children's Alliance will provide more outreach into our communities and effect real change to the health and wellbeing of children and young people in the UK.
